From the 1st of November 2012 Dr. Joanna Wheeler has been seconded to the Amsterdam Centre for Tax Law by the IBFD, where she has worked for many years, as part of a new cooperation agreement between the two organizations.
At the International Bureau for Fiscal Documentation, Joanna has designed and taught many classroom courses, pioneered the IBFD's programme of online courses, and given regular guest lectures for a number of LL.M programmes. Her previous work at the IBFD included the supervision of various publications and setting up the IBFD's database on the taxation of trusts. In 2007 Joanna was the general reporter for the IFA Congress in Kyoto, on the topic 'Conflicts in the Attribution of Income to a Person'.
In April of 2012 she successfully defended her PhD thesis, written under the supervision of Stef van Weeghel, on the attribution of income to a person for treaty purposes. At the ACTL she will be responsible for the development of new research and education activities.
