The UvA is pleased to announce that as of 1 September 2015 the advanced master programme: “International Tax Law: Principles, Policy and Practice” will start. This one-year, full-time programme will be given in close cooperation with IBFD, a world-renowned research centre and publisher in international tax law based in Amsterdam.
The programme provides a thorough grounding in the theoretical and practical issues of international tax law and a detailed consideration of the policy options available to states at different stages of development. Optional courses allow students to give their study a regional focus if they so wish. A moot court and a mock tax treaty negotiation are an integral part of the programme and students will receive training to improve their legal research, writing and oral presentation skills.
The class will be limited to 25 students, to allow for lively class discussion and ensure that students receive individual attention. Students will be selected on the basis of academic merit and their ability to contribute to discussion within the programme. The core teaching staff will be drawn from the ACTL and IBFD. Guest lecturers will include leading academics, experienced practitioners and representatives of government bodies, intergovernmental organizations and the judiciary.
See the International Tax Law programme for full details and the application procedure. Any general or specific inquiries may be addressed by email to TAX-LLMfirstname.lastname@example.org
